My 2009-2010 Class Room

This year it is off to the races in the WLC Bears Class! I found these cute racing bears for my folders and just had to do my room in a racing theme.
Everyone has their own race car with personalized license plate. I place one set of cars on the door and the other on each childs folder.

Here is my winners circle that I plan to hang everyone picture around.
We passed out Hot Wheels and a stuffed bear to everyone at orientation. It must have been a winning idea because today was great. We had minimal crying and everone napped!! Lets hope day two is a winner too!

First Grade for Bailey

Monday was the first day of 1st grade for Bailey. She has Ms. Smith this year at Hidden Hollow Elementary. She had a great first day. When I picked her up she said "Ms. Smith is the best teacher ever!" Hope she still feels that way in May ;~)

Jack's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Today was Jack's first day of Kindergarten! He was very excited to go to school. I am the one with the nervous excitement. Here is to a great year!

Blessing of the Backpacks

Today was the Blessing of the Backpacks at AUMC. This year Bailey picked a brown mail bag style bag and we had her name put on it in pink. Jack's backpack is Transformers. Bailey and Jack are so excited to start school tomorrow. I'm praying for a great day for both of them!

HHE Meet the Teachers

Last night was "Meet the Teacher" night at Hidden Hollow Elementary School. Here is Bailey and Ms. Smith, her new 1st grade teacher. She has some friends from last year in her class, as well as, some new faces. I'm loving the small student-teacher ratios!

Jack will be going to Kindergarten this year. Here he is with his teacher, Mrs. McDaniel.
Jack sat through the Kindergarten presentation like a champ. Went right into his room, met some new friends and played while I filled out some paperwork. Meet the teacher night went great! Both kids are looking forward to school starting on Monday!

Skechers

The Barger's have been back-to-school shopping. Both, Bailey and Jack wanted a pair of Skechers for the upcoming school year. Bailey will be sporting the Hydee Hy Tops in pink and purple. Who would have guessed? This is the first year that Jack voiced an opinion and we let him get what he wanted as far as shoes go. Jack picked the Z-Strap style in black. In typical mom fashion, I put the new shoes up so they would be "new" for school. With school starting on the 24th, I figured they had waited long enough.

Happy Birthday All

Recently, Bailey has been on the birthday circuit. She has been horse back riding at Cowboy City, bouncing at Bounce City, jumping at Jumpin' Joey's, splashing on the Glass’ water slide and next week is birthday fun at QLS. Here is a pictures from Jumpin’ Joey’s.

Bailey is blessed to have so many friends and so many opportunities to do such fun stuff!

HAFBC Play Area

Today, we had a play date at the indoor play area at the Humble Area's First Baptist Church. The kids love it here! And why not? This place is jinormous!! It is five stories of kid heaven. I was able to get a picture of Bailey, but Jack seem to be avoiding the camera. If you have never been here, you need to go!

Eagle Pointe Wave Pool

AUMC Children’s Ministries End of Summer Splash was this past Friday at the Eagle Pointe Wave Pool. The kids had a great time. We will definitely be going back. Thanks to Ms. Beth for organizing!

Cowboy City

Recently, Bailey went to here friend Maya’s 6th birthday party. Maya had her party at Cowboy City where she takes riding lessons. The kids had a sack lunch, rode horses and ended with a hayride.

Petting Zoo

Marsha's Exotic Petting Zoo set up shop at the Atascocita library today. Bailey and Jack got to pet and play with kangaroos, baby llamas, baby deer, antelope, calves, piglets, chickens, and more!

They also had their face painted.

It was so much fun and, the best part, it was FREE!

Singin' in the Rain

This summer has been very dry here in Houston. So, when the skies opened up, the kids begged to go out to play. So Simple....So Fun...

Bakers Edge Pan

Bakers Edge Nonstick Brownie Pan is the best for making perfect brownies. It has fast become one of my kitchen favorites. Because of the unique design, cooking times are shortened. The best part is that you can make just about anything that you would cook in a 9x13 in this pan, including lasagna. This pan would be a great addition to any kitchen. Thank you to my mother-in-law, Esther, for giving it to me!
