Easter Crosses

We did a stain glass looking cross this year. We cut a cross out of black construction paper. Put a piece of white tissue over the cross opening. Had the kids glue tissue in various colors onto the white tissue paper. I just love how they turned out.

Easter Egg Hunt at AUMC

This year instead of the tradition egg hunt, they had stations with games or tasks to complete to earn your eggs. This one Bailey is trying to eat a peep without touching it with her hands.
Then the kids tackled the rock wall!
Posed for some pictures with the Easter Bunny.
Then finished the day with a slice of pizza.
We had a great time!

Reunion and 80th Birthday Party

We all got together for Jean Jean's 80th birthday. Relatives came from near and far to help celebrate this milestone birthday! Here is a picture of the great grandchildren: Jack, Bailey, Jacqulyn, Sam and Lauren

Jean Jean and her children - Elaine, Lance and Esther Not sure who these crazy kids are ;0)

I love the back drop that Esther made for the occasion. The pictures all turned out wonderfully and Jean Jean said it was her best birthday party yet!

Easter 2011

Easter eve the kids put out their Easter baskets and wrote notes to the Easter Bunny.

We made special cookies to put out as well.
Here we are Easter morning with two baskets full of Easter goodies.

Went to church in our Sunday best. They did a balloon release with all the children. It was really pretty to see all the balloons floating away.

We plan to finish the day with a big ham dinner.

Happy Easter!

Dying Easter Eggs

One of our Easter traditions is to dye Easter eggs.

Here the kids are hard at work dying eggs.
Here is the finished product. They turned out really pretty this year!

HAPPY EASTER!

Yesterday was Palm Sunday. The kids walked into church waving palms.

Sang a few songs. We had pizza for lunch after the egg hunt. Jack surprised me by eating a rice crispy treat.

Easter 2010

Easter Day 2010 was a great one for the Barger's. Here the kids are with their Easter baskets. After they "opened" their baskets we had a big french toast breakfast before we left for church.
I helped with children's church today. They let the kids put flower on the crosses. Here is Jack with such a look on his face.
Bailey placing her flower on the cross.
Bailey and Me in front of the flower covered crosses.
Then they did a balloon and butterfly release. Here is Bailey with her balloon.
Here is a short clip of the release.
We finished the day with a big ham dinner with all the trimmings. Such a great day!

2010 Easter Eggs

We dyed our Easter eggs today.
To make the designs and words we used a white crayon to write on the eggs before placing them into the dye. Here Bailey is decorating an egg.
Jack holding up his finished egg.
Now is just need to figure out what to do with a dozen hard boiled eggs ;~)

Palm Sunday and Easter Egg Hunt

Today was Palm Sunday. The kids participated at the beginning of the service by placing palms on the alter.
After the service, the Easter Egg Hunt was under way. The Easter bunny made his appearance too. Here he is posing with Bailey.
Jack and the Easter Bunny.
Bailey is painting "stained" glass at the craft table.
Jack's favorite is the big blow up slide.
We had a fabulous time. Couldn't have asked for better weather.
