Easter 2011

Easter eve the kids put out their Easter baskets and wrote notes to the Easter Bunny.

We made special cookies to put out as well.
Here we are Easter morning with two baskets full of Easter goodies.

Went to church in our Sunday best. They did a balloon release with all the children. It was really pretty to see all the balloons floating away.

We plan to finish the day with a big ham dinner.

Happy Easter!

Dying Easter Eggs

One of our Easter traditions is to dye Easter eggs.

Here the kids are hard at work dying eggs.
Here is the finished product. They turned out really pretty this year!

Jack Turn's SEVEN

Jack has been celebrating his birthday for weeks now, but the 14th of April was his real birthday. He had a wonderful birthday! He is looking so big with his new hair and toothless grin.

Jack's New Smile

Jack lost his front top tooth last week and was so excited to pose for a picture with his new smile!

WLC Open Houses

We just did two Open Houses at my school. Here I am with Ms. Lori, my co-teacher in my T-Th Beaver class wearing our bling Buckie Beaver shirts. Our theme was "I'm A Little Texan." Had all but one family show up!Here is my MWF Bear's class and my co-teacher, Ms. Tiffany. We are wearing our "T"iffany and "T"racy bomb shirts. Our Noah's Arch theme was a big hit with all the animals!

WLC is such a great place to work and a wonderful place for kids to learn and grow!

Spring Break with Grandma

Grandma came down for Spring Break this year. We had a fun fill week. We went to see Rango at the movies.

Spent a day at Incredible Pizza in Conroe. Celebrated Jack's 7th birthday a couple weeks early. Grandma gave him Wii Party and it was a huge hit! We also spend a day at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It was a great week and we had lots of good times with Grandma!

Mom's Night at Raffa's

Tiffany, Kristi, Joan, Yolanda, Stefanie and I went to Raffa's Waterfront Grill in Kingwood for a night out. It was a great time and the food was delicious!

April Picture of the Month

April is half over and I am just getting around to posting my picture of the month. Don't know what I do with all my time, but it seems to fly by faster and faster. We didn’t make it to Brenham this year, but we did take advantage of a nice patch here in Kingwood. This month we are going to celebrate both Christian’s (4/7) and Jack’s (4/14) birthday. The kids are looking forward to the Easter and all the fun that that brings. My new camera is being fixed under warranty so I haven’t been able to take picture like I normally do.

He was so excited. Here he is with his lst grade teacher, Mrs. Hebert.
Here is his dragon picture he made.
Here is the hit of the night, Jack's ME. He carried this around all night and had the most fun showing everyone.

Jack raced through WCE like speed dating!

HHE Open House

Hidden Hollow Elementary hosted their annual open house this week. Bailey posed for a picture next to her desk. She made sure we looked at how neat and organized that it was in and out. Bailey just loves her 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Brendle.
Here is a picture of Bailey and her art work that was displayed in the hall.
It was such a nice night. We also got to see all of our past teachers and lots of our friends. Looking forward to Jack's open house at WCE later this week.

Cracker Candy

Here is a delicious idea for Valentine's Day! Made this easy cracker candy for all the kids teachers this year. Placed them into zip lock sandwich bags and then topped them off with these cute bag toppers I found at Hobby Lobby. Jack passed his out of Friday and got rave reviews!
Here is the recipe for the Cracker Candy
15 sheets graham crackers
¾ cup chopped Pecans
1 ¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter
½ cup semi sweet chips
½ cup white choc chips
Grease a jelly roll pan. Divide graham crackers into small sections and place in single layer in the bottom of the greased jelly roll pan. Sprinkle nuts over crackers. In a sauce pan, bring brown sugar and butter to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes. Pour over graham crackers. Bake 10 minutes at 350o. Immediately remove sections from pan and place onto waxed paper. Melt dark chocolate & white chocolate in micro wave and drizzle over cracker sections.

ENJOY!

Staff Appreciation Valentine

This Valentine's Day, I'm giving each of the staff at HHE a highlighter. This was super easy teacher gift. Hope they like them.
