Trunk or Treat 2011

This year's Trunk or Treat at AUMC was SPOOKTACULAR!

We had pizza, cotton candy, made a craft ... and trick or treated. Here is "Mario" with Princess Peach.

We also took a few turns on the blow up slides.

First Jack.
Then Bailey.

We had such a fun time despite the windy cold weather.

Texas doesn't do the cold :0)

Fall Fest 2011

We had a great time at the Crosby Community Center's Fall Fest this year. The kids played a few carnival games.

Got a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.

Decorated their pumpkins with stickers and some hair.
Then went for a hay ride. Yes, they are sitting on hay. It didn't make it into the picture.

Finished up the event with a hot dog and chips for lunch.

Such a fun day!

Pumpkin Cake

Fall is officially here and what better way to celebrate than with pumpkin cake!

This recipe is very simple and delicious!
Pumpkin Cake
4 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 cup oil
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 can Libby’s pumpkin

Combine eggs, sugar and oil. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients except the pumpkin. Combine mixtures. Fold in pumpkin. Bake at 350 for 55 minutes in a greased and floured bunt pan. Top with cream cheese icing if desired.

Happy Fall!

Sweet Treats for HHE Staff

For October, I did a "sweet" treat to give out to the HHE Staff. I love this Holiday Party Snack Mix because you can add the candy for they holiday at hand. I used Fall colored M&Ms this time.

Halloween Candy Bar Covers

I made the kids' teachers these cute bat candy bar covers. Saw these on Skip to my Lou and could resist making them. She also has a mummy. For template, click here.
Happy Halloween

Carving Jack-O-Lanterns

Carving Jack-Lanterns is part of our Halloween tradition.
This year we used Pumpkin Stencils to help us with the design. You select your stencil and tape it to your pumpkin. Then, used a pen to mark the outline.
Then for the fun part. Scooping out the pulp and seeds.
Here are the results. I think they turned out great!
Happy Halloween!
